UNESCO. What's astonishing is not only the buildings on the mountain peaks but also the rocks themselves. Huge rocks rise up from the vast Thessalian plain, some of which are over 400 meters high. The Meteora Monasteries stand majestically on these towering rocks that are "just one step away from God", thus enjoying the reputation of the "City in the Sky". Among the original 24 monasteries, 6 are still preserved, and we will visit two of the Meteora Monasteries. The 007 film "GoldenEye" was filmed inside the Meteora Monasteries.

The Meteora Monasteries (Visit two of the Meteora Monasteries)
The Meteora Monasteries are magnificent local buildings and have been specially registered as a composite heritage of "culture" and "nature" by UNESCO. It was built in the 14th century and is located on a relatively high rocky mountain in the valley, at an altitude of 613 meters. The architectural layout of the Meteora Monastery reflects the status of the main monastery, and the famous mural "Martydom of Saints" is hidden inside the monastery.
